Issues Addressed

01.

We all feel depressed or anxious at certain times in our lives or under the right circumstances. Sometimes it's a short term feeling that is easy to manage. Other times we may find that these feelings are impacting our relationships, our careers, our ability to connect with others, or to effectively manage the stressors in our lives. Therapy can be a way to overcome these symptoms and get back on track.

02.

Relationships are complicated. Whether its our in our marriage, with our partner, with friends, or colleagues, we often find ourselves struggling to balance our own needs with the needs of others. Therapy can be a place to get support in navigating the complexities of your intimate relationships with an unbiased party in a safe, supportive environment.

03.

Traumatic events are common and can come in many forms (abuse, accidents, medical diagnoses and treatment, divorce, etc). We often tend to go into survival mode when the traumatic event occurs and the more long term consequences can go unnoticed. We also may exhaust our natural support systems  in the process or feel that we don't want to further burden our family and friends. Therapy is sometimes the only place that may allow you to safely acknowledge the trauma and get additional support.

05.

Marriage and Family Therapist's are trained in recognizing unhealthy family dynamics and in treating the family system. Therapist's can help identify the needs of the family unit and can provide support in making communication between and among family members more productive.

04.

We live in a stressful time: bouncing from one obligation to another with little time to stop and take a breath. Eventually it can become too much and we may develop physical and emotional symptoms that are our bodies way of telling us we need to slow down and take care of ourselves. Therapy can be a place where you allow yourself to do just that. Or it can be a place to learn techniques that you can incorporate into your already busy schedule to make you feel more calm, present, and productive.
