What is a Marriage and Family Therapist?
MFTs treat individuals, couples and families. They are particularly trained in understanding your symptoms within the context of your interactions and relationships with others.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
I offer a 20 minute phone consultation free of charge in order for us to determine if this is the right fit for you.
What can I expect from therapy?
Therapy is a collabortive process in which we will discuss your goals for therapy and develop a plan together that meets your needs. I will help you identify things that may have led up to your current challenges and we will identify ways to overcome your current obstacles. Therapy can involve talking about your concerns, practicing calming and mindfulness techniques, developing communication skills, and identifying underlying patterns that may contribute to your current concerns. We will sit face to face and work together to ensure your needs are being met.
How much do you charge?
My fee is $180 per 50 minute session. I am in network with Cencal and Health Net. I am out of network with all other providers. However, at the end of each month a Superbill can be e-mailed that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. I have no say in whether or not they choose to reimburse.
